tyra banks for president
the funny thing is this supermodel/tv host has more enlightened views on race relations than any of the dc'ers. yesterday's show was entitled 'trading races'. an african-american woman, who shared some of mainstream america's stereotypical views of muslims, was paired with a modern but conservative muslim woman to live a day in her shoes. the black woman spewed many of the same thoughts/ideas/rants westerners feel/think/image
* all muslims are terrorists
* her brothers are loaded with arms
at the end of the day after having to endure ridicule and taunts at the airport, while praying and simply trying to take pictures at tourist spots, she came around. she had a change of heart or a change of mind; whatever you want to call it. as is my customary custom (huh?) i'm reading some huffpost while enjoying a subpar cup of coffee and came across another little diddy on immigration. it baffles me that the general public cannot see past the brown skin of my fellow brothers and sisters and want to build a fence to keep illegal immigrants out. do serious minded individuals think this will work? it will only deter people from crossing at that point; immigrants desperate to leave their impoverished cities for any crack at a better life will find a way to emigrate; whether it be thru dangerous desert terrain or in the back of trucks and semis. explain to me the differing policies related to illegal immigration. why do cubans who make it to our soil after traversing the atlantic in rafts get instant asylum but the haitians who do the same thing are swiftly sent back?

can i get a muzzle for all parents
riding the bus is my money friendly therapy. sitting on the ac'd dog gives me plenty o' time to ponder and ponder and ponder and lip sync. today's previously subducted memory has pulled a congervent boundary on me and is mountain sized laughing in my face. ok, first off mad kudos for incorporating science! go nerd go!!
having lived my whole life in what we were taught is the white man's world, i have a very unique view on it. i'm hispanic. born in c. american but live all but 3-4 years of my lovely life in the good ol' us of a. if aliens abducted me and asked my home country i would certainly say the us. as much ass as it sucks, fl is my home state. excuse me while i puke. that being sad, i've never really fit in. growing up i was told to marry a white guy to dilute our dark skin tones. mymom's parents are racist. i don't get it. but i know that the shit they told us growing up is still ringing in my ears and i can't escape the scrutiny of my mind's eye. am i being looked at by others based on my skin color? or am i playing paranoid pilar and need to just chill? previously dormant fears and thoughts are creeping back in. what must i do? keep plugging away at school to prove to myself i am damn good enough; i know i am. fuck my past ghosts and make new ones for myself. how 'bout a sexy lesbian ghost who goes around singing brand new? now that's a phantasm i'd invite into my house any day.
